Eighteen-year-old Katie Hill was born a boy called Luke and her boyfriend Arin Andrews, 16, was once a girl called Emerald. The sweethearts met through a support group for young transsexuals in their hometown in Oklahoma, USA. Katie underwent gender realignment surgery earlier this year, thanks to a $40,000 anonymous donation. Arin, a former beauty pageant contestant, has hormone injections and is working out in the gym with his father Mitch to try to build a muscular body. Both teenagers shocked their families when they revealed their desire to live as the opposite sex, and Katie's father Randy, 56, a US marine, did not speak to her for three years because he was so upset. But now the young couple have the full support of their parents, who are coming to terms with their children's gender changes.
